Dunedin Energy Systems Ltd. was formed to design and produce small nuclear reactors for electricity and hi-grade heat. The people at Dunedin Energy Systems recognize the need for a small, safe, clean and cost effective energy source to serve isolated or off grid communities in Canada and around the world. Sized from 500 kilowatts up to 10 megawatts, the S.M.A.R.T. energy system can provide safe, reliable, zero emissions electricity and steam heat at a fraction of the cost of existing diesel fueled systems. Apart from the obvious benefit of greater independence and self-sufficiency, the advantages of S.M.A.R.T. electricity and heat will create new opportunities in light industry, greenhouse agriculture and employment in the remote communities it serves. Isolated mine sites and other resource extraction industries will have access to abundant, low cost energy and be largely freed from the costly and difficult effort of diesel re-supply.
